We were a little giddy when Henge Docks announced their desktop resting spot for the MacBook Pro, and perhaps even more so when they unveiled the MacBook Air model earlier this week. We paid the company a visit on the CES floor to catch a peek at products first-hand. Sure, the white, plastic exterior may a bit off-putting for some but we didn't mind it -- especially for a dock that you can snag for around $50. While the device is pretty straightforward, the rubber padding that hugs the docked laptop provided more security that we'd initially thought. One thing you'll want to keep in mind though: the peripheral does make the USB port on the machine's docked end usable on its backside, but the Thunderbolt socket is reduced to display-only functionality. The outfit assured us that it's working on a solution that maximizes that Intel potential and we're anxious to see that become a reality. An express tour awaits the curious, right after the break.

So, Belkin pulled a bit of a switcharoo on us with its Thunderbolt Express Dock. The device we saw back at IDF was very different from what made it out on the CES floor here in Vegas. But you know what? We're not mad because they managed to slim the dock down in the process. The outfit was also able to fit a single HDMI port into the peripheral while adding a nice cable channel to hide that unsightly Thunderbolt cable that connects the device to your PC of choice. If you'll recall, the dock also packs a trio of USB ports, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio, FireWire and an additional Thunderbolt port for all your connectivity needs. Head on past the break and we'll give you a quick tour.
Let's face it: if you're reading this site, you're probably armed to the teeth with gadgetry. And with that arsenal of tech comes the need to plug it all in somewhere -- inevitably leading to a massively cluttered work station. Well, that's why Toshiba's releasing two laptop accessories aimed at reducing the desktop chaos while further fueling your electronics habit. The dynadock U3.0 universal docking station offers multi-tasking users an array of six USB ports (two USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0) that can charge phones and portable media players without having to turn your computer on or have it actively connected to the dock. There's also a Gigabit Ethernet connection for high speed data transfer and a built-in full HD digital video card that adds support for up to two extra monitors. The dock is slated to hit sometime later this month and will retail for $180. Less exciting, though no less useful, is the company's USB 3.0 Mobile LED Monitor which boasts a widescreen 1366 x 768 HD resolution, anti-glare coating and weighs around 3.6 pounds. No pricing or concrete availability's been announced for this external display, save for a possible April bow. You can check out the PR after the break for all extended details.
If you were waiting for a few more details about the e2343Fi, AOC's monitor with a built-in iPhone dock, well today is your lucky day. Just in time for CES the company is taking the wraps off its HD monitor with 10-watt SRS Premium Sound speakers. The 23-inch 1080p panel rocks a 50,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 250 cd/m2 brightness and 5ms response time in a sleek 12.9mm-thick package. The Aire monitor won't actually hit the market until March, but when it does it'll carry a price tag of $280.

While Verizon customers are happily lording it over their HSPA-bound counterparts with those LTE speeds, they may be less happy to hear about the lower-grade car dock they've been saddled with. Setting you back $40, the dock is a protective bracket for your phone that attaches to your windscreen with a suction cup. However, the GSM version includes the Galaxy Nexus' three-pin contacts, with micro-USB and mic ports built into the dock, meaning there's no need to constantly plug and unplug -- unlike the US model. Take a judicious look at the two images above; on the right is the predominantly hollow Verizon-branded car dock, while the similarly-shaped (but internally different) dock on the left is the UK's official Galaxy Nexus version. Why the difference? It's a transatlantic mystery to us.
We've been following the onslaught of AirPlay / Bluetooth speaker systems in recent months, carefully combing through the prospects to find the true contenders. We were recently impressed by Klipsch's Gallery G-17 Air and now we've given the JBL OnBeat Xtreme a testdrive. This beast is step up from the regular ol' OnBeat dock, both in stature and cost. Priced a cool $500... it's sandwiched between the pricey B&W Zeppelin Air and the more modest iHome iW1. So is the JBL dock extreme enough to warrant a purchase? We've been blasting beats through this bad boy for a fortnight, so read on to find out if you should snatch one up for yourself.
If you've been in the market for a Galaxy Tab friendly audio dock, your wait could be over. iLuv has debuted it's iSM524 for your Samsung Android slate, calling it "the world's first and only audio docking station" for the Galaxy tablet fam. Equipped with the company's jAura Sound technology, the dock's arm rotates for portrait or landscape viewing modes and tilts so you can get the best possible angle for catching up on that Boardwalk Empire season finale. You'll also find an IR remote and a 3.5mm auxiliary input to boot. iLuv promises that this ArtStation will play nicely with the entire Galaxy Tab family, but you can find out for yourself later this month if you're willing to drop $149. So whether you're sporting the 10.1 or the 7.0 plus, hit the gallery below for a closer look or check out the PR after the break for all the details.
